NATURE OF WORK:  This is a skilled and specialized position in the field of mosquito control. Primary duties involve the inspection of mosquito sources and the application of control measures in conformance with District policies and procedures. The position requires the employee to exercise independent judgment in routine assignments. The Section Operator performs required duties in the operation and maintenance of spraying equipment. Must mix and apply mosquito control chemicals according to label specifications. Attends training sessions and must pass and remain current with the Department of Agriculture and Food’s Non-commercial Pesticide Applicator License. Keeps detailed records of work activities and chemical applications. Ensures proper use of safety equipment and performs other related duties as required.

Job Description
Under the general direction of the District Manager, this position is responsible for providing leadership to improve programs, strategies, performance, and quality of District control operations. This position has direct supervisory responsibility requiring providing good example and high level of leadership. The Field Supervisor does serve as a coach and mentor for other positions in the District. As the District’s Safety Officer, the Field Supervisor oversees safety and training of personnel and the maintenance of equipment.
